Poets' Night Out is an annual juried poetry contest and poetry reading event.

When and Where is Poets' Night Out?

The Eleventh Annual Poets' Night Out will be held Sunday November 18, 2007 at the City Opera House.

How can I submit my poetry to Poets' Night Out?

Am I eligible to submit poetry for Poets' Night Out?

You are eligible to submit your poetry if you live in any of the following counties in Michigan: Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaulkee, or Wexford.

Can I pay the entry fee more than once in order to submit more than the maximum number of poems per person?

No.

I have a poem that has been previously published. Can I still submit this poem to Poets' Night Out?

Yes! You may submit any of your original works, even if the poem has been published previously elsewhere.

Classroom-specific Questions

Is there any way that a student in my classroom can submit more than one poem?

Yes. In addition to the one poem included in your classroom submission, any student may submit poetry as an individual. The registration fee for the student's individual submission would be $5.00. More information on individual submissions can be found in How to Submit.
